Introducing the Pets In Need Community Veterinary Clinic: A New Era of Affordable Pet Care
We are excited to announce the grand opening of the Pets In Need Community Veterinary Clinic on Thursday, November 14, 2024! This new facility marks a significant expansion of our commitment to providing high-quality, affordable veterinary care for pets in our community. Nestled in Redwood City, the clinic complements our existing services, including the popular Low-Cost Vaccine Clinic and Spay/Neuter Clinic, further enhancing access to essential veterinary services for our furry friends and their families.
A Commitment to Pet Wellness
At Pets In Need, our mission is to ensure that every animal in our community receives the routine care they need to lead healthy and happy lives. The Community Veterinary Clinic is designed to support this mission by focusing on preventative care that promotes long-term wellness. The clinic will offer a variety of essential services to help keep pets healthy, including:
Wellness Exams

Meet Dr. Barbie
Leading our new clinic is Dr. Barbara Laderman-Jones, affectionately known as Dr. Barbie. She is the third veterinarian in the world to complete a three-year residency in Shelter Medicine, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to our team. Dr. Barbie has held leadership roles at the San Francisco SPCA and Placer SPCA and is committed to advancing animal welfare in our community.
Dr. Barbie is joined by Dr. Hannah McCarthy, and together they will ensure that our clinic upholds the highest standards of veterinary care.
Accessible Care for All Pets
The Community Veterinary Clinic is designed to be a wellness-focused facility, meaning that it will only handle routine and preventative visits. For emergency situations or specialized care, we recommend reaching out to your primary care veterinarian or a local emergency clinic.
Located at 871 5th Avenue, Redwood City, CA, the clinic operates by appointment only on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. We also offer services in Spanish (¡Se Habla Español!) to cater to our diverse community.
