Meet Micah, a gentle giant with a love for treats, toys, and being close to his people! This handsome large dog may have been a little reserved at first, but now he’s full of tail wags, warmth, and endless loyalty. Micah is a quick learner and incredibly treat-motivated—he’ll do just about anything for a salmon or chewy chicken treat. And if you’ve got a lick mat with frozen Greek yogurt or a Kong filled with plain peanut butter, he’ll be one happy pup! These treats are his favorite surprises when he has to be alone at home, and he’s been a calm, well-behaved companion every time.
Micah also adores his playtime! Fetch with squeaky Kong tennis balls or a game of tug-of-war with his XL Hedgehog plush are just a few of his favorites. He’s a fantastic fetch player and will drop the ball when asked, ready for another round or a quick chase. Walks are another highlight of Micah’s day—though he’s still learning not to pull on the leash. He gets especially excited when he sees squirrels, cats, or other dogs and tends to tug harder. His family has been working on training him to heel and stay calm before walks, and with consistent guidance, he’s sure to improve even more.
Micah’s perfect home would be with a loving, active person or family who can continue working on his leash training and enjoy all the affection he has to give. A yard to run and play in would be a bonus! While he’s a big dog, he’s also gentle with his loved ones, loves neck rubs, and enjoys following his people around the house to be close. He’s a good watchdog, alerting with a bark when strangers come to the door, but he settles well once he’s reassured.
With his playful, curious, and affectionate personality, Micah will be a loyal and loving companion to anyone who gives him a bit of patience and lots of love. He’s ready for a home with someone who has the strength to guide him and the time to share in his playful, attentive, and devoted nature.
