Happy 1st Shelter-Versary to PIN in Palo Alto!
Nearly one year ago, Pets In Need began managing the Palo Alto Animal Shelter. What a great year it has been!
This unique public-private partnership is a national model for the humane treatment of animals in public shelters, and we are proud of the milestones we’ve achieved during our first year in Palo Alto. They include:
We saved the lives of more than 600 cats and dogs, birds and rabbits, and even a tortoise.
We opened our doors to 90 children through our youth camps, providing interesting and challenging humane education opportunities for students right here in our community.
We recruited and supported an incredible team of more than 480 foster families and volunteers, and participated in numerous events in Palo Alto, Los Altos and Los Altos Hills. We also conducted more than two dozen visits to corporations, senior centers, and schools in our adopted community.
Thank you for making these and so many other milestones possible. Please join us for a casual celebration to mark this important milestone.
