Caspian Is Home For the Holidays

Caspian stole the hearts of so many of us during his time at Pets In Need. He was adopted earlier this month, which means he will be celebrating the holidays with his new family. Read about Caspian’s early days at home.

When we rescued Caspian in September, we didn’t realize the health challenges that lay ahead of him. Polyps had been growing in Caspian’s ears for some time, causing hearing loss and threatening brain injury.

Earlier this month, Caspian landed a forever home. His name has since been changed to Cash, and he’s living large with his new family and canine brother, Kobe.

Here’s what Cash’s mom, Stephanie, had to say about her family’s experience.

The second we hung out with Caspian, he had us. We knew his history, and medical challenges, and we wanted an opportunity to give him the great life he deserves.

When we got home we renamed him Cash. He’s settling in well and fortunately, due to our work schedules, someone is almost always home with him.

It didn’t take long for Kobe, our chihuahua-mix rescue, to take to Cash either. They both seem to enjoy having a four-legged buddy.

We did leave the boys alone once for about an hour and came back to find that Cash had shredded a package of paper towels. But we’re in love with him, so we didn’t mind.

Cash loves walks, and everyone he meets. He is a cuddle bug and has taken to licking our faces and chins.

Perhaps the most surprising thing about Cash is the noises he makes. The staff at Pets In Need mentioned that Cash has a funny way of snorting and grunting, but we didn’t experience it until we got him home.  Even now there are times when I wake up in the middle of the night confused by the noises coming from across the room.

I’m so happy that my husband and I are able to give Cash a safe and loving home for the holidays. There are few things more rewarding than adopting a shelter pet.

At Pets In Need, we do whatever it takes for as long as it takes. When Caspian needed intensive medical care, we provided it.

Cash's parents, Jason and Stephanie, returned home recently to find Cash busy with a bag of paper towels.
