Sage is ready for her happily ever after

(Update 11/11/19: Sage has been adopted!)

Sage feels worried — it’s written all over her sweet doggy face. She’s been here for three weeks, and her new family hasn’t come for her yet. We’ve tried to reassure her, but she’s still anxious.

While she’s made a lot of friends among our staff, what she really wants is a permanent, loving home of her own.

More about Sage

This beautiful 1-year-old shepherd mix absolutely loves people. No really. When our volunteers take our dogs out for walks, most of them make a beeline for the front door. Sage is different. She insists on stopping and — no exaggeration — individually greeting every single person in the lobby.

Other things Sage loves: fetching (plush toys, preferably), going for walks (she’s great on a leash), and squeezing into laps that she is clearly way too big for (don’t tell her).

Sage would be happiest as an only dog, and we’re recommending her for humans 18 and older. If you’re looking for a smart, loving, loyal sidekick, we’d love to introduce to Sage. She’s available for foster-to-adopt. Foster-to-adopt is a great way to learn if one of our cats or dogs is a good fit for your family prior to committing to adoption.  When you foster-to-adopt, you have seven days to make up your mind.
